The main goal of the project is to prevent and mitigate the consequences of natural disasters from a cross-border dimension, while the main activity in the South-East region is the arrangement of a part of the river bed of the Sushica River in the Municipality of Radovis, in length of 624 meters, cleaning of the river bed, setting of cascade thresholds, a quay wall, arranging the bottom, building stairs and ramps.
Such activities will enable the regulation of the riverbed, as well as afforestation and greening around the river, which will provide reduction of the negative consequences from floods and adjusting to climate changes in the future. The quality of life of citizens in the cross-border region will also be improved by increasing the security of natural disasters.
The project will be implemented 24 months until July 2021.
